In the gallery of mem'ries there are pictures bright and fair, and I find that dear old Butler is the brightest one that's there. Alma mater, how we love thee, with a love that ne'er shall fade, and we feel we owe a debt to thee that never can be paid.

Subject: hi mom!
hi mom! how're you doing? i'm pretty good,
but tired, i've been cleaning all day. our bathroom was disgusting, shh i dont think joey cleaned it since he got here back on the first. ohhh welll. anyways its clean now, and in a few minutes i'm going to take a shower in the pristine shower.
it took us FOREVER to get our internet working yesterday, some guy came and hooked it up while i was gone and apparenly he said he wouldnt touch our router because if it blew out while he was working on it, he'd have to pay for it out of pocket. anyway so just one computer was hooked to the interenet, and it took randi and joey like all evening on the phone with the internet company to figure it out. but its all working now i think, and its really fast so thats good. the brand of interenet company is Roadrunner, and whenever the webpage is 'thinking' the little road runner icon in the corner runs its kind of neat.
i paid my first gas bill yesterday, $4.90, big money i know. but ahh i accidentally paid it with a tuition check, i didnt realize it until just after the mailman took it away.... do you want me to put five dollars back in the account? since the amout for everyone else to pay me is so small, i'm just adding it to the next bill so they dont have to pay me the 98 cents in pennies or whatever.
classes have been pretty good, of course lots of reading right from the start, blah. monday i have all of my classes pretty much and i'm kind of antsy about it since spending ALL DAY at school is not so appealing now that i actually have to go do it.
the dean of liberal arts and sciences came and talked to me during lunch again friday, and he says he'll be sending out the email for his focus group thing soon, so i was glad to get in touch wiht him again, my #1 job reference :) he said his son had been looking at colleges all summer too, he went to yale and harvard just like michael did. he said he went to stanford too and really liked it. anyway it was weird to hear him talk about his son the same age as michael, he seems WAY older than you and dad do but maybe he had kids late i dunno
i got my check in the mail from you yesterday, and the underwear, haha i'll be needing that soon, havent got around to doing much laundry, even though the laundry room is only like what 2 feet from my room? fine. i also got my car sticker, i'll put that on later today.
we couldnt figure out where would be a good idea to get my car window fixed, so andrea asked the band conductors, and the percussion instructor's dad owns a car repair shop so even if we dont get a discount, at least we'll know it will be done well there. she had him draw me out a map on how to get there but she put it in her purse and took it with her to band today, so i guess i'm not fixing it today! thats fine, i put plastic over the window, and took out all my important stuff, and it hasnt rained, and i'm not going anywhere, so it'll be fine for a little bit.
how's iowa city this weekend? it is soooooo hot and muggy out here, times like this that make me glad i'm not in band. how is work? have i been getting a lot of letters since i've been gone? i was kind of interested to know how many of hte people i was tracking down actually would send a letter back. is peanut feeling better? and have you taken her back to the vet yet? dont let dad forget to take the birds out, when i'm not there i worry sometimes they get lonely all alone in that back room.
i think i probably asked this before, but has michael made any decisions about where to go to college yet? all my friends have been asking me and i guess i have no idea.
how's david liking high school so far? does he have good teachers? i remember it being kind of stressful at first.
anyway, i think i'm going to go take a nap, i'm all tired out from all that cleaning! i'm going to probably not do much of anything the rest of today, just more homework and maybe a bike ride up ahead this weekend, and some organizing of the room. not too exciting , but i'm going ot have a big week ahead of me, with the visitors from out of town and a full week of school and etc.
write back soon, i miss you all!
love, andrea
